This massive custom chess board was crafted by hand for a chess enthusiasts. It is: 30” x 30” x 4” and weighs approx. 20 lbs. It is made up of over 280 pieces. All 64 surface squares were individually cut, sculpted, stained, re-sanded for a rich contrasting affect and then finished in high gloss. They were then fitted within a designer frame of hand painted molding. Accented brush nickel tacks have been added to enhance the over appearance of the board's top surface. The sides are padded with a mosaic fabric pattern and accented with brush nickel tacks as well. It comes with four durably mounted decorative handles on each side capable of carrying 40 lbs. The bottom is covered in blue velvet. The board rest upon four rotating circular wheels with recessed felt padding to prevent scratches to table tops while maintaining an aesthetically uniformed look. The chess pieces are made of wood with felt bottom. The king is 3.9” with the pawn coming in at 1.9”. All pieces are handcrafted and housed in a divided hinged beech/birch case with fastening hasp.
